HUNTING SEASON Remember those long road trips when you tried to amuse yourself by playing license plate bingo or counting the telephone poles? When you visit Green County, Wisconsin, you can add some other items to your inventory like a bison, a whale, a small flock of funky birds, and a whole herd of groovy cows. We've got a variety of games and "I Spy" ideas to keep the whole family engaged and entertained. No special hunting equipment is needed - and the only thing you'll shoot is your camera!
CATTLE CROSSING 
Of course it's true that herds of Holsteins, Brown Swiss, Jerseys and even some Guernseys graze our rolling hills. In fact, there are more dairy animals than people in Green County!But have you heard about the other herd? Go on a Cow Scavenger Hunt to find more than a dozen uniquely decorated cows in New Glarus and Monroe. Most of these painted ladies reside in New Glarus, however, a few strayed south to Monroe. Find them all and enter in a contest to win squeaky-fresh cheese curds.
BARN QUILTS 
More than 70 colorful painted wooden quilt squares are displayed on both current dairy barns and "retired" historic barns throughout the area. Finding them all will take you over rolling hills and past scenic views on the back roads of Green County. Visit the website Green County Barn Quilts for more information and updates. GEOCACHING Think of it as treasure hunting with the latest technology. Now think of it as part of your vacation. Go Geocaching in Green County! Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a world-wide outdoor hide-and-seek game with millions of players who use Global Positioning System coordinates to lead them to caches and logbooks. Numerous caches can be found in the Green County area - click on the MAP to get an idea of where they are hidden.
BOUNTY HUNTER One thing you'll spend very little time hunting for is great taste! With two breweries and nearly a dozen cheese factories, Green County offers the perfect pairing of brews and curds. You'll also enjoy other local fare - like yogurt, sausages created from old world recipes, hearth breads, Emu meat and eggs, pasture-raised chickens and grass-fed beef, PLUS authentic Swiss cuisine.
